ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) TEACHER — Montgomery County Public Schools, Virginia.

Location:

Christiansburg, Virginia. Assignments and locations to be determined. This is a continuous recruit posting to build an applicant pool for the 2026–2027 school year; positions will be filled as they become available.

School Year 2026–2027; assignments and locations to be determined. Salary range: $52,832.35 – $85,613.64 annually, with benefits; commensurate with experience (salary may change due to budget considerations).

• Plan and implement instruction for students with limited English language skills; develop English proficiency to enable success in the regular classroom.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and guidance counselors to support English language development.
• Administer placement tests and assign students to appropriate levels upon entry to the school.

• Hold or be eligible for a Virginia Teacher’s License with endorsement to teach English as a Second Language (ESL).
• Develop and implement effective lesson plans and curriculum materials.
• Assess student learning and use results to plan instruction.
• Integrate technology to enhance learning and use Google Drive for instructional purposes, collaboration, and managing coursework.
• Create an inclusive, supportive learning environment respecting diverse backgrounds and needs.
• Communicate effectively (written, verbal, presentation) and collaborate with parents, families, and other teachers.
• Demonstrate dependability, punctuality, and reliability.

• Master’s degree in Education and/or the specific subject area.
