Job Description & How to Apply Below

As a Cost and Value Engineer, you will drive initiatives to maximize product value while minimizing costs throughout the entire product life cycle. You will be a key contributor to the business capture and planning phase, where you will bridge the gap between technical engineering and financial viability. By leveraging bottom-up CVE methodologies, you will lead cross-functional teams to set optimization targets, evaluate technical solutions, and prepare robust cost data for new business proposals.

  • Cost Optimization & Strategy:
Apply methodologies to identify, evaluate, and realize cost potential. Lead process and technology optimization at suppliers along the value chain.
  • Proposal Coordination:
Support and coordinate the efforts of cost estimating teams. Gather, correlate, and translate technical inputs into proposal cost data for use in critical pricing decisions.
  • Technical Analysis:
Conduct concept evaluations and development-related costs, focusing primarily on design-for-cost and design-for-assembly fundamentals.
  • Data Stewardship:
Analyze and assemble historical data for follow-on business proposals, ensuring all calculations are reasonable, transparent, and objective.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Contribute to strategic topics in close cooperation with Procurement, Engineering, Finance, and Supplier Quality Management.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
Communicate estimating results clearly to those responsible for customer pricing and executive leadership within critical time constraints.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or finance, with a minimum of 3 years in a project-oriented, or manufacturing support role.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, mechanical drawings, and 3D models.
  • Proven track record in bottom-up cost calculations and managing cross-functional projects.
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and Office tools (PowerPoint/Excel).
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation competence with the ability to "assert" value-driven decisions.
  • High-level moderation and presentation abilities for executive-level reviews.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines during the business capture phase.
  • Travel:
    Approximately 10%, Domestic and/or International

Benefits include:

  • Financial Rewards: great compensation package, annual profit sharing, matching 401k and the ability to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts
  • Work/Life Balance:
Flexible paid time off, holidays and parental leave program, relocation assistance
  • Health & Welfare:
Comprehensive insurance coverage including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, Employee Assistance Plan (“EAP”) and other supplemental benefit coverages
  • Professional Skills Development:
Tuition Assistance, mentorship and coaching opportunities, leadership development and other personal growth programs
