Travel Mammography Technologist – Christiansburg, VA

Focus Staff is seeking a travel Mammography Technologist for a 13‑week assignment in Christiansburg, VA. The role involves 40 hours per week, 8‑hour days, Monday through Friday.

13 Weeks (Temporary) – 5 days a week, 8 hours each day.

• BSN from an accredited nursing program and proper licensure.
• Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families.

At least 2 years of experience as a certified Mammography Technologist.

• Utilize AIDET to communicate with patients, ensuring the correct exam is performed and establishing rapport.
• Instruct and communicate with patients and families regarding the test and assess tolerance.
• Prepare patient or area for mammography procedure by positioning, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment, and setting exposure factors.
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to safety, infection‑control, drug, and radiation policies and protocols. Use proper sterile techniques and maintain hand hygiene.
• Work with engineers and physicists to ensure equipment operational capabilities; report issues to management.
• Obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, and consent forms.
