** How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:
** This position is located at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center (CNRVMC) in Christiansburg, VA, working full time, Monday-Friday either 5–8-hour shifts 6:45am-3:15pm or 4-10-hour shifts 6:45-5:15 with occasional weekday/weekend/holiday call.
The RN Team Lead provides clinical leadership and oversight for patient care delivery while supporting staff development, operational efficiency, and quality outcomes. This role serves as a clinical resource, mentor, and team leader to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care across assigned areas.

The RN Team Lead
* Serves as a team leader, clinical resource, mentor, and role model for staff.
* Provides direct patient care and coordinates care delivery for patients of all ages.
* Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimal outcomes.
* Leads and mobilizes the care team to support positive patient outcomes.
* Facilitates effective communication and resolves operational issues within the work group.
* Supports staff development through coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
* Participates in performance evaluations and contributes to development planning.
* Assists with staffing, scheduling, and workload distribution to ensure adequate coverage.
* Collaborates with leadership on fiscal management, resource allocation, and budget considerations.
* Participates in performance improvement, patient satisfaction, and quality initiatives.
* Conducts team meetings and promotes a positive, accountable work environment.
* Ensures compliance with regulatory, licensure, and accreditation standards.
* Communicates effectively with patients, families, staff, and interdisciplinary teams.
* Maintains confidentiality and exercises sound judgment in handling sensitive information.
* Supports organizational initiatives and adapts to changing priorities.
* Responds to staffing needs, including supporting other Carilion facilities as required.#
** What We Require:

* Education:

** Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.

* Experience:

** Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience including demonstrated clinical and leadership expertise required.
** Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:
** Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. For Behavioral Health roles, de-escalation training must be completed within the required timeframe. For OB/GYN roles, EFM NCC certification required.
** Life Support:
** AHA BLS-HCP required. ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.

** Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to manage challenging patient situations as appropriate to role.
