This position is based out of the Resource Pool at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center in Christiansburg, VA, but will cover inpatient needs at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center, Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, VA, and Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital in Tazewell, VA. The role is part‑time evening/night (7pm–7am). As a registered nurse, you will consistently deliver the best in care and customer service, demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness and empathy to patients, families, visitors and colleagues.

You will assume primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized care, utilizing delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team‑oriented, collaborative approach. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care to achieve optimum outcomes, completing age‑specific admissions and ongoing assessments, collaborating with the healthcare team to develop interdisciplinary care plans, revising plans as needed, administering and documenting treatments and medications, addressing patient and family educational needs, contributing to performance improvement activities, serving as a patient advocate, applying developmental knowledge, managing resources, prioritizing tasks, modifying environment to meet patient needs, completing manager‑directed projects, facilitating problem resolution, leading orientation of new employees, providing feedback to staff, participating in unit and system activities, and assisting with education activities for the unit.

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing or an approved program eligible for the VA licensure exam.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure.
• Life support: AHA BLS‑HCP required; may need to obtain or maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP based on specific unit.
• Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC).
