How You’ll Help Transform HealthcareThe LPN Inpatient provides practical nursing care under the direction of a registered nurse or physician, supporting patient care delivery, treatment implementation, and care coordination. Collaborates with the healthcare team to deliver safe, effective, and patient-centered care across the inpatient setting. Participates in the nursing process, including data collection, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Contributes to the development and implementation of individualized interdisciplinary plans of care.
Identifies patient, family, and caregiver educational needs and incorporates education into the plan of care. Implements prescribed treatments and therapeutic interventions. Administers medications in accordance with provider orders and scope of practice. Applies knowledge of growth and development to deliver age-appropriate care. Advocates for patients and supports their rights, providing psychological, social, and cultural support. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
Supports performance improvement initiatives and contributes to quality outcomes. Participates in orientation and development of new staff. Demonstrates professionalism, teamwork, and commitment to service excellence. Supports organizational mission, vision, and values and complies with all policies and procedures.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required.
- Experience: None.
- Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. De-escalation training required within 4 months of hire for Psychiatry and Behavioral Health roles and must be maintained thereafter.
- Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP certification required.

Must successfully complete orientation and competency requirements. Must be able to meet essential job functions. Additional experience or certifications may be required based on service line.
