Sign‑On Bonus: $15,000 for experienced RNs, $10,000 for new graduate RNs.
Compensation Range: $33.52 – $50.28 per hour (based on qualifications, credentials, education, and prior experience). This range excludes benefits and pension plan.
ResponsibilitiesAs a registered nurse, you will:
- Provide individualized care for patients of all ages, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- Conduct age‑specific admissions and ongoing assessments, document findings, and develop a plan of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team, patients, and families to develop and adjust an interdisciplinary plan of care.
- Accurately administer and document treatments and medications using automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
- Identify and address patient/family educational needs, incorporating them into care plans.
- Serve as a patient advocate, protecting patient rights and providing psychological, social, and cultural support.
- Apply knowledge of growth and development to care for patients across the lifespan.
- Contribute to performance‑improvement activities and quality initiatives.
- Model clinical excellence, mentor students and physicians, and guide new staff during orientation.
- Utilize problem‑solving methods to resolve patient and personnel issues.
- Manage resources, set priorities, and adjust the environment to meet patient needs.
- Complete manager/director projects within specified time frames and guidelines.
- Graduate from a professional nursing school at an accredited college or an approved program eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure.
- AHA BLS‑HCP required; may need to obtain/maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP based on unit.
- Proficient in electronic medical records, specifically EPIC.
- Experience with diverse patient populations across all ages.
