Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is now accepting applications for a Certified Nurse Aide Instructor position that is available at Christiansburg High School for the school year. This is an 11-month position.
Primary Responsibilities:- Teach Health Occupations courses, including Certified Nurse Aide, to high school students based on current industry standards and state curriculum
- Advise the co-curricular Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA)
- Maintain accreditation of the Nurse Aide Education Program with the Virginia Board of Nursing.
- Manage technology and curriculum
- Work cooperatively with others in the education setting
- Prepare students for employment or further education
Skills and Qualifications
- Hold a current unrestricted Virginia license as a registered nurse or a multistate licensure privilege
- Minimum of two years of experience as a registered nurse within the previous five years in the teaching specialty sought, and at least one year of experience in the provision of long-term care facility services. Such experience may include, but not be limited to, employment in a nurse aide education program or employment in or supervision of nursing students in a nursing facility or unit, geriatrics department, chronic care hospital, home care, or other long-term care setting.
Experience should include varied responsibilities, such as direct client care, supervision, and education. - Graduated from an approved program of study for the preparation of health care professionals (RN, LPN, CNA)
- Eligible for teaching license in Health and Medical Sciences Education
- Have strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students and parents
- Experience fostering an inclusive learning environment
- Ability to be dependable and punctual
- Bachelor's degree in health sciences or in the medical field
- Previous teaching experience
- Technical knowledge and ability
- Eligibility and experience with dual enrollment

Salary: $59,277.89 - $95,348.21 annually; with benefits; commensurate with experience
