Heavy Equipment Operator

• Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant policies and procedures to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
• Clean heavy equipment as scheduled and/or required.
• Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored.
• Practice workplace safety.
• Maintain inventory.
• Use equipment for snow removal.
• Use equipment to level roads and ensure proper drainage.
• Manual labor – dig ditches, work with/servicing equipment, lifting in gross of 100 lbs. and any other manual labor as directed by supervisor.

• Valid driver’s license, unrestricted.
• Knowledge of truck and equipment safety.
• Knowledge of operation of front end loaders, dozers, graders, skid steers and other pieces of heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage.
• Knowledge of road construction and maintenance techniques.
• Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures.
• Knowledge of record‑keeping system.
• Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures.

• Ability to operate single and double axle trucks in a safe and responsible manner.
• Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
