The Assistant Coordinator, Expanded Learning serves as direct administrative support to the Aftercare Coordinator/Director and may serve as second in charge in the absence of the Aftercare Coordinator/Director. The Assistant Coordinator plays a role as a mentor, tutor, activity leader, and sports coach. The Assistant Coordinator also plans and coordinates the curriculum and provides outreach and communication to families.
Job Function / DescriptionHigh Tech High Expanded Learning Programs are an important element of the school day experience. The Assistant Coordinator of Expanded Learning plans and coordinates curriculum, provides outreach and communication to families, and serves as a direct administrative support to the Aftercare Coordinator/Director. The Assistant Coordinator may also serve as second in charge in the absence of the Aftercare Coordinator/Director. This position is in‑person and on‑campus.
Duties- Provide outreach and communication to families
- Serve as a direct administrative support to the Aftercare Coordinator/Director
- May serve as second in charge in the absence of the Aftercare Coordinator/Director
- Supervise school‑aged children indoors and outdoors
- Maintain an orderly, safe, and organized environment for the students
- Take attendance to ensure all students are accounted for
- Plan, develop, and facilitate engaging student activities
- Assist students with learning activities and homework assignments
- Understand and implement emergency procedures, including safety protocols
- Perform related duties as assigned
- Ability to work well with school‑aged students
- Comfortable leading academic and enrichment activities with students
- Inform and communicate effectively
- Ability to work with diverse population
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience working with students
Tuberculosis Clearance and Department of Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance criminal records summary.
Working ConditionsEnvironment:
Indoor and outdoor setting.
- Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
- Hearing and speaking to communicate and exchange information
- Seeing to observe accuracy of reports and documents
- Dexterity of hand and finger to operate office equipment
- Bending at the waist, kneeling, and reaching overhead, above shoulders and horizontally to retrieve and store files and other items as needed.
