Description

Applications for Part-Time, Adjunct Instructor pools are continually accepted (unless otherwise specified) by the District. They will be added to the application pool for review by hiring authorities on an as-needed basis. Should you be invited for an interview, you will be contacted by a District representative.

Southwestern College is seeking qualified part-time instructors to teach Portuguese. The ideal candidate can teach beginning and intermediate levels in-person and/or hybrid modalities. This position may include a combination of day, evening, and weekend assignments at our Chula Vista campus.

Provides instruction on Interpretive, Presentational and Interpersonal Communication (as per ACTAFL) in Portuguese, as well as an emphasis on the products, practices and perspectives of Lusophone culture.

Qualifications

Master's in Portuguese OR Bachelor's in Portuguese ANDMaster's in another language or linguistics ORthe equivalent

Additional assessment is required for applicants with foreign degrees from colleges or universities outside of the United States. Applicants must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) and must submit a copy of the evaluation with the application.
