Overview
Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, the Assistant Site Supervisor – Expanded Learning Programs (ELP) assists with overall program management, participant supervision, program planning, and implementation of academic enrichment activities. The Assistant Site Supervisor helps manage safe, accurate, and efficient participant sign‑in/out procedures and provides coaching and support for Youth Leader staff members. The position requires high energy, dedication, patience, good communication skills, and a strong desire to mentor youth, strengthen families, and serve the community.
Schedule- M‑F 6am–8am and/or 1:30pm–6pm

- Assist in the planning, management, and implementation of program activities in accordance with the goals and policies of the ASES/21st CCLC grant, school district, collaborative partners, and the YMCA of San Diego County
- Supervise program participants, ensuring their guidance and safety at all times
- Provide positive behavior guidance that supports developmental, social‑emotional, and physical needs of all students
- Serve as lead staff of the expanded learning program in the absence of the Site Supervisor
- Actively recruit students and market expanded learning activities to ensure program capacity
- Collaborate with school and district personnel to align high‑quality academic activities and to develop and maintain positive relationships
- Assist with on‑site management of attendance data and procedures, program documents, student files, and other administrative duties as assigned
- Perform daily duties that ensure space is properly maintained, organized, clean, and safe
- Respond to critical incidents and act in an emergency situation
- Lead activities such as sports, games, academic assistance, assemblies, transitions, and other program activities
- This position occasionally requires travel throughout San Diego County.
- This position includes supervisory responsibilities.
- Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma or GED
- One year of experience in child and youth development, education, or a comparable setting required
- Experience with TK to 8th graders preferred
- Professional experience working in an after school program preferred
- Ability to respond to critical incidents and act in an emergency situation
- Ability to lead activities such as sports, games, academic assistance, assemblies, transitions, and other program activities
- Licensing, state law and funders require applicants to be fingerprinted prior to reporting to work, and to provide subsequent arrest notifications
- Negative TB assessment or test results obtained within the past 60 days, prior to working on a school site, and every four (4) years thereafter
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification must include Adult and Child/Infant, be obtained within 30 days of hire, and be from one of the following certifying organizations:
American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety & Health Institute - Completion of one of the following:
- 48 college credits at an institution of higher education
- AA/AS degree, or
- Passing score on district’s Classroom Assistant/Instructional Aide proficiency exam
