Job Description
Southwestern College is looking to hire a part-time instructor to teach Asian-American History II (ASIA/HIST 113). The curriculum examines the history of Asian Americans in the United States from 1846 to the present. Major themes include economic development, occupational patterns, anti‑Asian movements, inter‑ethnic exchanges, gender, and intergenerational issues, and includes a study of the Constitution of California.
Class ModalityFace‑to‑face instruction. Classes may be held during weekdays and/or evenings at any campus site (Chula Vista, National City, Otay Mesa, and/or San Ysidro).
Qualifications- Master’s in Asian American Studies or Master’s in Ethnic Studies, AND
- Bachelor’s degree in Asian American Studies or the equivalent.
Applicants with foreign degrees must have their coursework evaluated by a professional association that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or Academic Credentials Evaluation Institute, INC. (ACEI). A copy of the evaluation must be submitted with the online application.
