Radiography Program Director (Full-Time)

Location: Chula Vista, CA (Chula Vista Campus) | On-Site | Type: Full-Time | Salaried Exempt | Department: Radiography Program | Compensation: $98,705 – $123,185 per year

Position Summary

Are you a visionary radiography leader with a passion for shaping the next generation of imaging professionals? Our Chula Vista campus is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Radiography Program Director to helm our JRCERT-accredited program. This is a unique opportunity to leave your mark on a thriving program. As the architect of its future, you will be responsible for developing a robust curriculum, guiding a team of dedicated faculty, maintaining strong clinical partnerships, and stewarding the program through continuous improvement and accreditation.

This role combines strategic oversight, academic instruction, and hands‑on mentorship — making it ideal for a professional ready to advance into a comprehensive leadership position.

Key Responsibilities Academic Leadership & Program Administration
  • Program Strategy:
    Determine, establish, and implement department goals while collaborating with administration on overall program design.
  • Curriculum Design:
    Develop and maintain a functional, high-quality curriculum; evaluate course content and review new textbooks.
  • Accreditation & Compliance:
    Prepare self-study materials for JRCERT accreditation, maintain all ARRT records, and compile required annual reports.
Student Success & Instruction
  • Teaching Duties:
    Perform the core instructional functions of a Radiography Instructor, preparing didactic instruction and course objectives.
  • Student Retention:
    Monitor student progress, review class retention rates, and meet with at-risk students to problem-solve barriers and maintain an institutional student success rate of 80%+.
  • Academic Administration:
    Evaluate student performance against course objectives, maintain accurate grades per policy, and submit final semester grades for transcripts.
Clinical Coordination & Site Management
  • Clinical Partnerships:
    Secure new clinical sites and negotiate affiliation agreements with local healthcare facilities.
  • Site Visits:
    Visit clinical sites regularly to evaluate student performance, progress, and learning environments.
  • Preceptor Engagement:
    Coordinate with site instructors to ensure clinical rotations are educationally effective and aligned with program goals.
Faculty, Fiscal & Operational Management
  • Team Leadership:
    Supervise radiography faculty and staff, assign teaching loads, and organize educational workshops and in-services for didactic and clinical instructors.
  • Budgetary Oversight:
    Monitor the department budget and expenditures, managing resources to maintain a high-performing and sustainable program.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education:

    Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Credential:
    Current, active registration in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Clinical

    Experience:

    Minimum of three (3) years of occupational experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Teaching

    Experience:

    Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an instructor in a JRCERT-accredited radiography program.
  • Leadership

    Skills:

    Proven proficiency in curriculum design, educational evaluation, and program administration.
