What YOU Will Do- Perform stress analysis and approve repairs to minimize aircraft downtime on all Collins Aerostructures commercial nacelle hardware that are compliant with certified type design and airworthiness (FAA/EASA) requirements.
- Provide technical guidance to Junior and Senior engineers, making recommendations to management and act as technical lead on assigned projects.
- Perform advanced repair stress analysis on metallic and composite structures and develop analytical methods for highly complex technical issues requiring creativity and ingenuity in supporting airline operational requirements, formal certification reports, and design changes.
- Handle escalated and unresolved customer issues addressed directly with customers.
- Provide guidance and recommendations on how to resolve customer situations.
- Assist staff on the systems, standards and processes put in place to help the team provide solutions, build capabilities, and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead projects for productivity improvement.
- Communicate directly with Airline and OEM customers for rapid development and approval of technical solutions.
- Prepare RAS/8110-3 documents, including substantiating analysis, and obtain/coordinate sign‑off with the Airworthiness organization.
- Prepare analysis package to support SRM/CMM repair development for submission to the Type Certificate holder.
- At least a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering, and 8 years progressive experience as a Stress Analyst or related role on aircraft nacelle structure components. Alternatively, a master’s degree and 5 years experience may be acceptable.
- Minimum 5 years experience with repair analysis of aircraft nacelle metallic and/or composite structures.
- Minimum 5 years experience with maintenance, repair, overhaul, and regulatory requirements in the commercial aircraft industry.
- Minimum 5 years experience with load path, load balance, free-body diagram, and classical hand analysis methods used in aerospace structural analysis.
- Minimum 5 years experience with finite element analysis of aircraft structure using Patran and Nastran.
- Non‑US Person: authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship. Company does not offer immigration sponsorship or export authorization for this role.
