Hourly Pay Range (Minimum - Midpoint - Maximum): $26.130 - $32.670 - $36.590
This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with SEIU-UHW. As part of the terms of employment, employees in this role are required to join the union within 31 days of hire and remain a member (e.g. dues paying, fee paying, religious exception contributor) for the duration of the collective bargaining agreement.
This position was originally posted to ratified SEIU members from 2/10/2026 to 2/18/2026. The position is now available to be filled by internal candidates that are not members of the ratified Bargaining Unit or External candidates to Sharp.
What You Will DoTo assist the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical services that supports the mission, values and philosophy of Pharmacy Services and Sharp Healthcare. Performs technical tasks involved in the preparation, documentation and distribution of patient medications.
Required Qualifications- California Pharmacy Technician License (TCH) - CA State Board of Pharmacy - REQUIRED
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
- 1 Year experience in retail pharmacy environment.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board - PREFERRED

Operational Services (internal customers):
Clearly communicates goals and instructions to other staff members, including handoffs between shifts (written/oral);
Participates in staff orientation and resident/student training programs.
Effectively intercepts and troubleshoots problems, as demonstrated by effective problem solving, prioritization of issues with respect to level of significance and impact to patient care, safety, workflow, and communication. When faced with complex situations, has knowledge of and applies the appropriate policies and procedures;
Effectively evaluates ongoing workflow issues as and directs daily workload to achieve efficiency and maximize resource utilization as business needs require;
Attends and participates in staff meetings or reviews staff meeting communications;
Reads work related email at a minimum on assigned workdays.
Customer Service/Interdepartmental Relations (external customers):
Answers phone in timely, friendly manner, stating department, name, and title;
Fosters positive relationships through consistent, respectful, professional interactions with customers;
Responds to requests in a timely, caring manner that is consistent with Sharp Everyday Actions. - Daily Operations
Print all necessary daily reports at the end of each shift.
Assists in processing daily, weekly and monthly reports and claims within the designated time frames.
Files original prescription hard copies in designated location each shift.
Archives prescriptions as deemed necessary according to Sharp protocol.
Willing and able to step into any technical role to help achieve a smooth pharmacy workflow.
Willing and able to fill in at other sites to help meet the needs of the pharmacy.
Stock supplies at the end of each shift. - Distribute Medication to Patients
Greets personnel and patients entering the pharmacy with smile and acknowledges their presence.
Accurately gathers and documents patient's name, demographics, insurance information, drop off time and indicates known drug allergies in accordance to department standards for all walk in prescription orders.
Communicates to patient any delays in prescription processing and the steps taken to resolve the issue in a timely manner.
Double checks each completed prescription prior to bagging, verifying the labeled medications match the enclosed bag ticket.
Checks 'will call' shelf daily to see if any medications have not been picked up. Calls patients when necessary about prescription orders.
Follows Return to Stock guidelines for all medications that are not picked up.
Asks for additional identifiers for every patient picking up a prescription.
Accurately, and within designated time frames, prepares prescriptions, refills or balance for delivery or mail out prior to arrival of daily delivery driver.
Documents all communication with patients regarding prescription status including, but not limited to, Call When Ready (CWR), medication shortage, etc.
After receipt of medications from wholesaler checks and fills drugs on order according to site procedures. Contacts patients if necessary.
Accurately handles all cash, charge, delivery and doctor payroll deduct payments for all merchandise leaving the pharmacy.
Always provides paying customers with a receipt for transactions.
Maintain adequate inventory of supplies for cash register and credit card machine.
Perform end of day duties, including but not limited to, register and credit card machine reconciliation. - Inventory Control
Maintain appropriate levels of pharmacy inventory at all times.
