Job Title
INTERMITTENT INTERPRETER – Farsi (Examination No. 24-018)
ResponsibilitiesIntermittent Interpreters provide simultaneous and consecutive interpreting services during court proceedings, including witness testimony and oral arguments, and assist court staff in a customer service setting. They may also offer sight translations as needed. They work in courtroom or office settings and have significant contact with judges, court staff, attorneys, and the public.
Work Schedule and AvailabilitySchedule is on an as‑needed basis with no limits on the amount of work that may be accepted or rejected in a calendar year. Interpreters may be assigned to any court location based on daily needs and do not have a set work schedule.
BenefitsEligible for Social Security and Workers' Compensation coverage.
Salary$47.20 per hour, with a paid five‑hour minimum guarantee for a full half‑day session; additional hours are paid hourly.
Minimum QualificationsMust possess, at the time of application, a valid and current Certified Court Interpreter certification in Farsi issued by the Judicial Council of California.

- Maintain a neutral, non‑biased position when providing interpreting services
