Madrazo Villarreal A.P.C. is seeking a highly organized and proactive Civil Litigation Paralegal to support complex federal and civil local cases, including multi-plaintiff actions involving toxic torts, personal injury, labor exploitation, wage-and-hour violations, and trafficking-related claims. This role is critical to the day-to-day execution of litigation strategy and requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive matters with discretion.

The ideal candidate is someone who understands federal litigation mechanics, is comfortable handling large volumes of client information, and can work closely with counsel on filings, discovery, and case coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with local and federal court filings (complaints, motions, proofs of service, discovery documents)

Manage and organize multi-plaintiff case files, including intake questionnaires, declarations, and supporting documentation

Draft and format legal documents, including pleadings, motions, declarations, subpoenas, and correspondence

Coordinate and track service of process, deadlines, and litigation calendars

Assist with discovery management, including document review, organization, and preparation of responses

Communicate professionally with clients regarding procedural updates under attorney supervision

Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive and personal data with care

Support attorneys in case strategy preparation, hearings, and settlement processes

Coordinate with vendors (process servers, court reporters, translators, investigators)

Required Qualifications

Minimum 3+ years of experience as a paralegal in civil litigation (federal court experience strongly preferred)

Knowledge of Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and basic local rules

Experience with electronic filing systems

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

High level of discretion, professionalism, and reliability

Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-moving litigation environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with labor & employment, wage-and-hour, or complex civil litigation

Experience handling multi-plaintiff or class-type cases

Familiarity with discovery platforms and document management systems

Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred

Prior experience working with immigrant or vulnerable client populations is a plus
