The Quality Assurance Technician performs quality checks to make sure our product is within the quality metrics provided in the Quality Management System.
- Upholding Boochcraft’s company values and representing Boochcraft with enthusiasm and confidence, ensuring a safe workplace
- Adhering to the Quality Management System and providing inputs toward continually improving its scope and effectiveness
- Following proper operating procedures
- Performing lab analysis such as titratable acidity, alcohol and density analysis, PCR, cell counts, measuring CO2 and DO, and can seam analysis
- Sample collection at various points during the process using ASBC method of Aseptic Sampling
- Prepare media and plate as needed
- Data capturing and analytics using standard deviations to interpret trends occurring in the brewery
- Set up and administrate sensory panels
- Cleaning and organizing lab space
- Assisting production when/if needed
- Working with innovation group as needed
- Education:
Must hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Microbiology, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry or Engineering, or an Associate’s degree with the experience and skills necessary to perform the required laboratory procedures. A thorough understanding of quality control methods, especially chemical/biological processes, is preferred. - Preferred Experience:
2 years of laboratory experience, ideally supporting a high‑volume production plant where data was gathered and analyzed to monitor and control production quality. - License or Certification:
Must hold a valid Driver’s License. - Specialized
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Suite. - Preferred skills:
Experience growing and analyzing complex cultures of yeast, bacteria, and/or enzymes; a well‑developed palate able to distinguish among flavors, ingredients, fermentation characteristics, and aging/storage methods. - Physical Requirements:
Able to perform activities including lifting, bending, kneeling, twisting, climbing ladders, stooping, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
This position pays between $21.50 per hour to $23.00 per hour.
