The Budtender serves as the face of the dispensary, delivering exceptional customer service while guiding guests through the cannabis purchasing process. This role assists customers in selecting products that meet their individual needs, ensures compliance with all applicable regulations, and processes transactions accurately at the point of sale. In addition to supporting daily retail operations—including front desk reception, online order fulfillment, and maintaining a clean, organized sales floor, the Budtender plays a key role in creating a seamless and welcoming customer experience.

Please note that we are specifically looking for candidates who are able to work evenings and weekends regularly.

• Greet customers and create a welcoming, professional environment.
• Verify identification and age prior to entry in accordance with California cannabis regulations.
• Engage customers to identify their needs and provide knowledgeable product recommendations.
• Educate customers on cannabis strains, consumption methods, potency, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain an up-to-date understanding of store promotions, discounts, and new product arrivals.
• Process transactions accurately through the POS system, ensuring compliance with all state and company policies.
• Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when appropriate.

• Serve as the initial point of contact for customers, vendors, and delivery drivers.
• Accurately check customers into the POS system, ensuring required documentation is thoroughly completed and recorded.
• Maintain a clean and organized lobby and retail floor, ensuring displays and merchandising are presentable.
• Complete daily logs for visitor tracking, referrals, and deliveries.
• Assist in receiving, scanning, packaging, and fulfilling online orders using company systems.
• Accurately track products in the inventory management system and ensure proper labeling.
• Support stocking and restocking of products on the retail floor and storage areas.
• Collaborate with the inventory team to maintain product accuracy and compliance.
• Help with light product intake and labeling under supervision when needed.
• Participate in monthly and/or annual inventory audits as required, to ensure accurate inventory management.

• Follow all company SOPs and state regulations regarding cannabis sales and handling.
• Ensure that customer interactions and product transactions adhere to compliance standards.
• Maintain awareness of and adherence to company security and safety protocols.
• Participate in ongoing training related to compliance, customer service, and product knowledge.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the store, including breakrooms and storage areas.
• Support company initiatives and special projects as assigned by management.
• Attend all scheduled shifts, trainings, and staff meetings.

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining professionalism.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Familiarity with cannabis products, regulations, and customer needs preferred.
• Ability to operate or quickly learn the store’s point-of-sale and inventory systems.
• Must comply with expectations that are aligned with company policy and union contracts.
