Parts Clerk

Position Overview

Parts Clerk with Transdev in Chula Vista, CA. Performs basic vehicle servicing, cleaning, and fueling with limited supervision. Customer service-oriented and dedicated to safety.

• Distribute requested parts to mechanics and post parts to computerized work orders.
• Assist Part Supervisors with record retention and delivery/pick‑up of documents.
• Research parts numbers from manufacturer’s catalogue or on computer.
• Obtain parts from bins and compare labor codes on requisition to computer codes.
• Retrieve parts and supplies from outside vendors and deliver to specified addresses.
• Perform audits of parts and materials.
• Order parts and materials from vendor networks.
• Stock items into designated areas and monitor inventory levels.
• Physically count parts/supplies annually or as needed and report to the Part Supervisor.
• Advise on stock‑out and low‑stock situations based on computer data or visual inspection.
• Perform housekeeping: mop, sweep floors, dust counters and computers; keep bins orderly, label boxes.
• Assist with boxing parts for shipping and other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of parts‑room experience.
• Computer‑literate with strong attention to detail.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical; DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 applies.

• Work shifts or flexible schedules as needed.
• Long periods sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
• Work environment both indoors and outdoors.

• Pay: $28.50 /hr (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Pay Scale).
• Vacation: 72 hr per year.
• Paid Sick Leave: 40 hr per year.
• Other benefits per union terms.
