CVICU Registered Nurse in Cibolo, TX

A healthcare facility in Cibolo, TX is seeking a registered nurse with pediatric cardiac experience to provide specialized care in a cardiovascular intensive care unit setting. The position involves working night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM on a full-time contract basis. The ideal candidate will demonstrate clinical independence and the ability to manage complex patient needs associated with pediatric cardiac care, including chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care following established nursing processes, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
• Administer medications and treatments, monitor for side effects and effectiveness, and maintain detailed documentation.
• Provide patient and family education tailored to learning needs.
• Make appropriate clinical assignments and delegate care tasks to manage patient care efficiently.
• Uphold professional practice by meeting competency standards for nursing leadership and care.

Qualifications and

Experience:

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Texas or compact state.
• Pediatric cardiac nursing experience is required.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA approved).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• At least one year of critical care nursing experience preferred; new graduates with relevant clinical experience will be considered.
• Must complete New Nurses Orientation and department-specific competency validations upon hire.
