The Senior Environmental Studies Technician (Engineering Technician IV) reviews proposed highway improvements for environmental impacts, develops mitigation strategies, and maintains records of mitigation actions for the Illinois Department of Transportation in Effingham. The role supervises subordinate employees and coordinates environmental activities across sections and with consultants to ensure timely project completion.
Key qualifications- Two years of college in civil engineering technology, pre-engineering, or related technical/science curriculum plus five years of engineering experience, OR seven years of engineering experience
- Extensive experience in technical activities relating to civil engineering
- Extensive experience managing environmental aspects of transportation projects
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, CADD, GIS, and web-based databases
- Valid driver's license required
