Environmental Protection Engineer I with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency's Bureau of Water, Division of Water Pollution Control. The role involves reviewing wastewater permit applications, assisting senior engineers in facility inspections and design evaluations, and supporting non-municipal wastewater permitting programs. This is an entry-level position designed to provide training in engineering programs within the Industrial Unit.
Key qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in engineering science or closely related engineering specialty (environmental, civil, chemical, mechanical, public health, or similar)
- Current and valid driver's license
- Ability to travel
- Ability to pass a name-based background check
- Preferred: proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access software
