Staff Accountant

Description

Our client is a growing organization seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join their team on a full-time contract basis, with the potential for contract-to-hire. In this role, you will be integral to maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the company's growth, and ensuring smooth daily accounting operations. You will be a key contributor to the finance function, with a focus on leveraging Sage Intacct software.

Schedule:

Full-time, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week; standard business hours, with some flexibility as needed)

Key Responsibilities:

+ Perform daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processing, journal entries, and account reconciliations

+ Lead or support month-end and year-end close activities and assist with financial statement preparation

+ Accurately record, categorize, and report financial transactions utilizing Sage Intacct software

+ Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring completeness and accuracy at all times

+ Prepare financial reports, supporting schedules, and variance analyses as required

+ Communicate directly with vendors and customers to resolve invoicing, payments, and account inquiries

+ Assist in the development and maintenance of budgets, forecasts, and expense tracking reports

+ Maintain well-organized, up-to-date financial files and documentation in compliance with internal controls and company policies

+ Provide support during annual audits and participate in special finance projects as needed

Qualifications:

+ 2+ years of practical accounting or bookkeeping experience, ideally in a dynamic or growth-focused organization

+ Proficiency with Sage Intacct required; experience with additional accounting software or tools a plus

+ Strong understanding of GAAP, accounting principles, and best practices

+ Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize responsibilities

+ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or other spreadsheet tools preferred

+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred (or equivalent relevant experience)

Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of hands-on bookkeeping experience, preferably in a dynamic or fast-paced environment.

- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
