Our client is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. This role offers a unique blend of technical accounting responsibilities, strategic involvement, and direct exposure to executive leadership. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in supporting M&A transactions, partnering with the C‑suite on major business initiatives, and strengthening the company’s financial operations as it continues to grow.

Position OverviewThe Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting functions, including monthly close, financial reporting, audit support, and technical accounting. This individual will also support due diligence, integration, and financial analysis related to mergers and acquisitions. With direct access to the C‑suite, the Accounting Manager will help inform business decisions and contribute to strategic initiatives across the organization.
This is a full‑time onsite position in Downtown Cincinnati.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the month‑end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP
- Support M&A activity, including financial due diligence and post‑acquisition integration
- Partner directly with C‑suite executives on strategic initiatives and operational performance
- Enhance internal controls, accounting procedures, and reporting quality
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Collaborate with FP&A, operations, internal stakeholders, and external auditors
- Assist with system improvements, automation, and process optimization
- Mentor and develop junior accounting team members
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- CPA strongly preferred, especially for candidates coming from public accounting
- 4–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including public accounting
- Strong technical GAAP knowledge and understanding of financial reporting
- Experience with or exposure to M&A preferred but not required
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with executives
- Highly organized, analytical, and capable of managing multiple priorities
