Senior Auditor

Mellott & Mellott is seeking a Senior Auditor to lead audit engagements, supervise junior staff, and support clients across a variety of industries including closely held businesses, nonprofits, and high-net-worth individuals. This role is ideal for an experienced public accounting professional looking to grow within a collaborative and relationship-driven CPA firm.

• Lead and execute assigned audit areas in accordance with firm methodology and professional standards
• Review audit work papers prepared by staff and interns for accuracy and completeness
• Supervise, mentor, and develop junior audit team members
• Identify audit issues, perform analysis, and recommend solutions
• Communicate engagement progress, risks, and findings to audit management
• Coordinate client requests, walkthroughs, and engagement timelines
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and auditing standards

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA license or active progress toward CPA licensure
• Public accounting audit experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and auditing standards
• Experience leading audit areas and supervising staff
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and audit software

• Experience with mid-market or public company clients
• Experience with revenue recognition, leases, equity, and other complex accounting areas
• On-site role
• Up to 30% travel to client locations
