Staff Accountant

Description

Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a contract opportunity with one of our clients. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger activity, account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Based on general knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and post journal entries

+ Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank accounts

+ Assist with month-end and year-end close processes

+ Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed

+ Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation

+ Analyze variances and research discrepancies

+ Assist with financial reporting and account analysis

+ Support internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies

+ Collaborate with accounting and cross-functional teams on special projects

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ 2+ years of accounting experience

+ Strong understanding of general accounting principles

+

Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as Microsoft D365, Oracle Net Suite, Quick Books, SAP, or Workday (Source: Q1  Demand for Skilled )

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

+ Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills

+ Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

+

Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting

+ Experience supporting month-end close
