Bursar's Office CashierXavier University is seeking a dependable, customer-focused, and detail-oriented Bursar’s Office Cashier. This position serves as a welcoming first point of contact for students, families, faculty, staff, and campus partners while supporting accurate payment processing, cashiering, and student account services. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to providing professional service in a fast‑paced office environment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:- Process student, family, departmental, and third‑party payments accurately and in accordance with university cashiering procedures and internal controls.
- Provide front‑line customer service to students, families, faculty, staff, and campus partners by answering questions related to payments, student accounts, billing, and university procedures.
- Balance daily cashiering activity, prepare supporting documentation, and assist with timely reconciliation of payments, receipts, and deposits.
- Research and resolve payment discrepancies, account questions, and transaction issues.
- Support daily Bursar’s Office operations by maintaining accurate records, safeguarding confidential information, and contributing to a professional, welcoming service environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associate’s degree or some coursework in accounting, business, or a related field is preferred.
- 1 year of general experience is required. Experience cashiering, payments, and/or making deposits is preferred.
