Location: Cincinnati, OH
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 annually (higher compensation may be considered for candidates with strong industry experience)
A growing real estate organization is seeking a Property Accountant to join its corporate accounting team in Cincinnati. This position will be responsible for general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and financial analysis for a portfolio of commercial and multifamily real estate assets.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain general ledger accounts, including preparation and posting of journal entries and cash receipts.
- Identify, research, and correct accounting discrepancies and coding issues.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities.
- Perform account reconciliations, including cash, receivables, payables, accruals, intercompany transactions, and lender obligations.
- Analyze financial variances and provide timely reporting and recommendations.
- Collaborate with onsite property management teams regarding financial performance and reporting.
- Ensure accounting processes and deadlines are consistently met.
- Support ad hoc accounting, reporting, and special projects.
- Partner with cross-functional teams across the organization to support operational and financial objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience required.
- Experience with general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Property accounting experience highly preferred.
- Experience with in real estate, construction, development, property management, multifamily housing, commercial real estate, or related industries strongly preferred.
- Experience with Yardi software is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with accounting systems such as Yardi, SAP, Quick Books, or similar ERP/accounting platforms.
