PositionSummary
The Accounting Manager oversees daily accounting operations and ensures accurate and timely financial reporting. This role leads a small accounting team while partnering closely with plant leadership and finance stakeholders to support financial processes, reporting, and operational decision-making. The position is responsible for maintaining strong internal controls, supporting the monthly close process, and driving continuous improvement in accounting procedures, systems, and compliance efforts within a fast‑paced, growth‑focused environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop a small accounting team through coaching, performance management, workload planning, and professional development
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Oversee daily accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, inventory accounting, and cost accounting
- Prepare financial and managerial reports, highlighting key insights for leadership
- Develop reports for the parent organization and regulatory agencies as required
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support annual financial planning and periodic forecasting
- Support internal and external audits by coordinating documentation and resolving audit findings
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls while ensuring compliance with company policies, SOX requirements, and corporate accounting standards
- Perform cost accounting activities and analyze project profitability related to capital investments
- Ensure accurate fixed asset tracking and proper depreciation practices
- Lead process improvement initiatives to streamline workflows, improve data accuracy, and enhance reporting through automation and system optimization
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related business field
- 5–7 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of accounting processes and the relationship between the income statement and balance sheet
- Knowledge of the business cycle and how operational activities impact financial results
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and organizational levels
- Advanced computer skills with the ability to build financial models for analysis and forecasting
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel proficiency required
- Familiarity with corporate reporting platforms is a plus
