Burke CPAs & Advisors is looking for a Senior Accountant – Assurance Services to join its Cincinnati-based Accounting & Assurance practice.

This role offers a strong mix of audits, reviews, accounting, and advisory work for privately held businesses and entrepreneurial clients.

As a Senior Accountant – Assurance Services, you will help plan, perform, and complete assurance and accounting engagements while working closely with managers, partners, clients, and team members.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing audits, reviews, compilations, and other assurance engagements
• Preparing and reviewing work papers, financial statements, and supporting schedules
• Identifying accounting, reporting, internal control, and operational issues
• Communicating with clients to gather information and resolve questions
• Assisting with accounting and advisory projects beyond traditional assurance work
• Helping clients understand financial results and improve accounting processes
• Reviewing and mentoring staff accountants when appropriate
• Managing deadlines, workflow, and client expectations
• Collaborating with tax, accounting, consulting, and advisory professionals across the firm

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Active CPA license
• 2+ years of recent public accounting experience
• Experience with audits, reviews, compilations, and financial statement preparation
• Strong understanding of GAAP and assurance standards
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines with limited supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Professional curiosity and sound judgment
• A client-service mindset
• Interest in growing into a broader advisory role
