Accounts Receivable Specialist

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite

A growing and well-established organization is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its accounting team. This position plays a key role in supporting daily financial operations through reconciliations, cash application, customer account management, and issue resolution. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent Excel skills, and prior experience in accounts receivable within a retail, automotive, or high-volume transactional environment.

• Reconcile daily accounts receivable activity and investigate discrepancies
• Import and reconcile daily sales data from POS systems into the ERP platform
• Accurately post cash receipts and apply payments
• Research and resolve unapplied cash, underpayments, and billing discrepancies
• Communicate with internal teams and customers regarding account issues and payment inquiries
• Monitor aging reports and assist with collections efforts on past due accounts
• Maintain customer account information, including credit limits and setup requests
• Assist with financial reporting support and account documentation
• Maintain tax exemption documentation and ensure compliance
• Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy

• Minimum 1 year of experience in Accounts Receivable, collections, invoicing, or related accounting functions
• Strong account reconciliation experience required
• Experience handling unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, and customer account research
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
• Experience working with ERP systems;
  Sage experience preferred
• Prior experience in retail, automotive, or high-volume transactional environments is highly preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to multitask and manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment

• Experience with insurance claims, billing, or customer account management is a plus
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred

• Target pay range: $23–$25/hour depending on experience
