Fixed Asset Accounting Manager
Responsible and accountable for the daily supervision and administration of the specific department. May also be involved in various aspects of the general accounting area with direct reporting and backup responsibilities. Provides leadership and guidance to the working group on accounting related projects and initiatives. Accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined.
Ensures actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience and consistently identify, assess, manage, monitor, and report risks of all types while operating within the bank’s risk appetite. The position is not available for immigration sponsorship.
- Directly supervises employee(s) in the specific department.
- Recommends employment, performance ratings, and salary increases.
- Prepares and gives performance appraisals in a timely manner.
- Allocates work, reviews work, provides training, guides development, and works with staff to set and achieve objectives.
- Resolves routine personnel issues.
- Interviews for staffing needs and replacements.
- Identifies and implements process improvement opportunities.
- Works with department, affiliate or lines of business for reporting enhancements.
- Researches and develops new or improved reporting enhancements for better management analysis.
- Implements reporting and functional enhancements in a timely manner.
- Ensures all department policies and procedures are developed, documented, and maintained in accordance with GAAP.
- Supervises staff in month‑end responsibilities including preparation and execution of monthly entries, variance analysis, reconciliation, and report preparation.
- Handles all accounting and bookkeeping aspects of the specific general accounting area (balancing, reconciliation, accruals, amortization, etc.) in support of affiliate and line‑of‑business finance staff.
- Prepares reports from accounting information.
- Establishes customer contact and maintains relationships with internal customers (affiliate and line‑of‑business finance staff).
- Monitors contractual obligations, expense allocations, and related interfaces.
Provides employees timely, candid and constructive performance feedback; develops employees to their fullest potential and provides challenging opportunities that enhance career growth; develops the appropriate talent pool to ensure adequate bench strength and succession planning; recognizes and rewards employees for accomplishments.
Minimum Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
Required
- BA in Accounting, Finance or Economics (MBA and/or CPA, CMA or other certifications strongly preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of related industry or public accounting experience (banking or financial services experience preferred).
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Proficient in advanced spreadsheet applications such as Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Ability to learn and understand Bancorp systems such as Mobius, Frontier, Raft & TM1.
- Excellent communication, organizational, follow‑up, and relationship‑building skills.
- Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to apply critical thinking, prioritize, organize work to meet deadlines, and communicate clearly and concisely with other managers and senior leadership.
Base salary reflects the range of salary levels for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries within this range will vary based on role, skill set, experience, education and geographic location. The role is eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan based on company, line of business and/or individual performance.
