Accounting Executive

We are looking for an experienced accounting executive to step into a contract leadership role supporting the organization in Cincinnati, Ohio. This hybrid opportunity will provide senior oversight of core accounting operations while serving as an interim leader until a permanent leader is identified. The position is well suited for a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who can guide a sizable team, strengthen financial controls, and deliver accurate reporting in a fast-paced service environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring timely completion and strong accuracy across all accounting activities.
• Direct the preparation and review of financial reports, including quarterly certifications and supporting schedules for executive stakeholders.
• Oversee detailed balance sheet account reconciliations and reviews to identify issues, resolve discrepancies, and maintain financial integrity.
• Manage fixed asset accounting activities, including tracking, capitalization, depreciation, and related reporting requirements.
• Provide day-to-day leadership for a 50-person accounting organization, offering guidance to direct reports and promoting accountability across the team.
• Act as the senior accounting leader during the interim period, addressing operational gaps and reducing risk in the absence of ongoing controller leadership.
• Apply sound technical accounting judgment in areas such as revenue recognition, annual close activities, and internal control matters.
• Use Great Plains to monitor accounting workflows, support reporting processes, and maintain reliable financial data for the business.
