Senior Accountant, Real Estate, Fixed Assets & Lease Accounting

  • Base Salary: $70,000 to $90,000, with possible flexibility
  • Target Annual Bonus: 7.5%, which has historically paid at or near target
  • Work Arrangement: Primarily onsite, with flexibility for one remote day per week

Four Pillars Talent is partnering with a large, stable, and well-established organization in Cincinnati to identify a Senior Accountant for its corporate accounting team. This position will support fixed asset accounting, ASC 842 lease accounting, property-related transactions, facilities accounting, and month-end close responsibilities.

Candidates do not need experience across every area. The hiring manager is open to corporate accountants with strong month-end close experience, professionals with fixed asset or lease accounting exposure, and candidates transitioning directly from public accounting/consulting/advisory into an industry role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support ASC 842 lease accounting, including lease reviews, reconciliations, and journal entries
  • Maintain lease information within a dedicated lease accounting system
  • Perform accounting for fixed asset additions, transfers, depreciation, disposals, and impairments
  • Run monthly depreciation and investigate unusual activity
  • Account for property sales and related gains or losses
  • Record completed projects and new locations as assets placed into service
  • Support facilities-related accounting, including accruals and prepaid expenses
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and analyze month-over-month variances
  • Research accounting questions, resolve discrepancies, and partner with internal teams
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close
  • Support internal controls, audit requests, and process improvement initiatives
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Strong understanding of general accounting principles
  • Ability to analyze financial activity and explain variances
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in developing fixed asset and lease accounting expertise
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
Preferred, but Not Required
  • Fixed asset accounting experience
  • ASC 842 lease accounting exposure
  • Experience with depreciation, disposals, impairments, or property transactions
  • Experience with lease accounting software
  • Experience with a large ERP or accounting system
  • Experience supporting facilities, real estate, construction, or capital projects
  • CPA or progress toward obtaining the CPA designation
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base salary: $70,000 to $90,000, with possible flexibility based on experience
  • Target annual bonus: 7.5%, which has historically paid at or near target

Work Arrangement

The preference is for someone comfortable working onsite in Cincinnati. The organization is also open to a hybrid schedule consisting of four days in the office and one day working remotely each week.
