Position OverviewMetalex is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team. The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays an important role in maintaining accurate and timely customer billing, collections, financial reporting, and month-end accounting activities. This position works closely with customers as well as our operations, shipping, and management teams to ensure accurate and efficient financial processes.
Key Responsibilities- Generate and distribute customer invoices and apply incoming payments
- Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding balances to ensure timely collection
- Coordinate with internal departments to prepare domestic & international shipping documentation, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of parts.
- Collaborate with internal teams to prepare & maintain projected billing reports
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports to support operational and business reporting needs
- Support month-end and year-end close activities by preparing reports, reconciling data, and assisting with accounting processes as needed
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams
- Support the Controller and Treasurer with projects and reporting
- Assist with process improvements and maintaining accounting procedures and documentation
- Experience in Accounts Receivable or general accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with ERP systems (AS400 or similar systems preferred)
- Associate degree in Accounting or related experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information
