SALT Senior – State & Local Tax

A well-established regional public accounting firm is seeking an experienced SALT Senior to join its growing State & Local Tax practice in the Cincinnati market.

This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional looking to build deeper specialization in State & Local Tax (SALT) while working with an established client base and experienced tax leadership. Responsibilities

• Assist with state and local tax compliance and consulting engagements
• Support multi-state income and franchise tax matters
• Research complex state and local tax issues and regulations
• Identify potential tax exposures, planning opportunities, and strategies
• Assist clients with state tax audits, notices, and controversy matters
• Prepare technical research, memoranda, and client communications
• Work directly with clients to understand their businesses and provide practical tax solutions
• Collaborate with professionals across the firm's broader tax practice
• Assist with the development and mentoring of junior professionals
• Continue developing technical expertise and client advisory skills within SALT

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of State & Local Tax (SALT) experience required
• CPA required
• Prior public accounting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with multi-state taxation, including income and franchise tax
• Strong tax research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong client-facing and relationship-building abilities
• Ability to effectively manage multiple engagements, priorities, and deadlines
• Desire to continue developing within a specialized State & Local Tax practice
