Payroll Manager
Own the weekly cycle. Keep Paycor clean. File it right across states. A corporate seat for someone who already runs payroll and is not looking to be managed through it.
This is a full-time, on-site corporate role in Cincinnati. The company is a growing, privately held, multi-state employer. The name stays off this page on purpose. If the work fits, the company gets named on a call.
The work
You own payroll end to end. Not a shared-services slice and not a processor who only keys what someone else already checked.
- Run the weekly payroll from start to finish — hours, overtime, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and adjustments.
- Keep employee payroll data accurate in Paycor.
- Review the register before it goes out. Catch it here, not after a paycheck is wrong.
- Handle payroll tax filings, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Prepare payroll reports for leadership and HR.
- Work with HR and managers when something does not match. Close it. Document it.
- Keep records accurate and confidential.
- Own year-end: W-2s and required reporting.
- Stay current on federal, state, and local payroll rules. This workforce is multi-state.
- Answer employee payroll questions directly and professionally.
Why someone already employed would take a look
- You own the process. The cycle is yours.
- Paycor is already how they run. Five years on that platform is the requirement, not a nice-to-have.
- Corporate office in Cincinnati. Multi-state payroll, not a single-site shop.
- You sit with HR and finance, not three layers below a national payroll center.
- Poor fit if you have not lived in Paycor, if you only process what a manager already approved, or if you want a director title and a large team underneath you.
What you need to have done
- Five or more years managing or processing payroll, with real ownership of a cycle.
- Five or more years of hands-on Paycor experience. Required.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll processing and payroll tax.
- Multi-state payroll experience preferred.
- Comfort with confidential information.
- Excel and Microsoft Office. HRIS experience is a plus.
- Associate degree in accounting preferred, or equivalent experience. A degree will not replace Paycor time.
- We care more about whether you have run a clean weekly payroll in Paycor than about the title on your current badge.
Full-time. Cincinnati corporate office.
Competitive salary and a standard benefits package: medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and 401(k).
If you already run payroll in Paycor, you are not looking to leave, and a Cincinnati corporate seat that owns the weekly cycle sounds like work you already know how to do — we should talk.
