Vernovis is seeking a Senior Accountant to support fixed asset accounting operations and financial reporting activities. This individual will own and maintain a large vehicle asset subledger, support month-end close activities, research accounting discrepancies, and partner across multiple departments to ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong fixed asset accounting experience, a solid understanding of GAAP, and the ability to analyze and resolve complex accounting issues.

• Own and maintain the fixed asset and vehicle subledger, ensuring asset additions, sales, disposals, residual values, and contract terminations are accurately recorded.
• Review transactions flowing from legacy systems into the asset subledger and perform manual corrections and adjustments when discrepancies occur.
• Analyze vehicle sale, settlement, and disposal activity to ensure accurate accounting treatment within both the subledger and general ledger.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, and support month-end close activities.
• Review financial statements and investigate unusual trends, balances, and account activity.
• Research and resolve discrepancies between the asset subledger and general ledger.
• Partner with Accounts Payable, lease operations, and other departments to resolve accounting issues and explain financial impacts.
• Support process improvements and ensure the integrity of asset accounting records and reporting.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Experience maintaining and managing fixed asset or asset subledgers.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close processes.
• Experience researching and resolving accounting discrepancies and transaction-level exceptions.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to partner effectively with both accounting and non-accounting stakeholders.

• Exposure to asset management systems or large ERP environments.
• Experience supporting accounting process improvements and automation initiatives.
