Overview
Occupancy Specialist. The Housing Authority of Newport is currently accepting resumes for the position of Occupancy Specialist in their Section 8 Department. The individual will conduct group and individual sessions with clients re: program rules; execute paperwork necessary for assistance; calculate tenant rents; document client files; perform data input; assist with occupancy matters. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Excellent math and communication skills a must. Previous experience in housing or social service program a plus.
- Conduct group and individual sessions with clients to explain program rules and eligibility.
- Execute and process paperwork necessary for housing assistance.
- Calculate tenant rents in accordance with program rules.
- Document client files and maintain accurate case notes.
- Perform data entry and maintain records in relevant systems.
- Assist with occupancy-related matters and inquiries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong math skills and effective communication abilities.
- Previous experience in housing or social service programs is a plus.
