The Position

Richards/Colesco is now seeking a part-time team member (20 hours/week) to support shipping, receiving, inventory, and general office tasks. This role involves preparing and inspecting shipments, coordinating with carriers, updating inventory systems, and maintaining accurate records. You'll also assist with vendor communications, data entry, and operational reporting. Ideal for someone detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with shipping software and ERP systems.

Duties & Responsibilities Shipping Tasks
  • Prepare outgoing shipments:
    Pack items securely, label packages, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Create shipping labels and invoices:
    Use software to generate labels and shipping documents.
  • Schedule pickups with carriers:
    Coordinate with Fed Ex, UPS, DHL, or freight companies.
  • Inspect outgoing goods:
    Verify items match the order and are undamaged.
  • Maintain shipping records:
    Log shipment details for tracking and auditing.
Receiving Tasks
  • Unload deliveries:
    Receive goods from trucks or delivery services.
  • Inspect incoming shipments:
    Check for damage, verify quantities, and match items to purchase orders.
  • Record receipts:
    Enter received items into inventory or ERP systems.
  • Tag and label items:
    Ensure proper identification for storage or distribution.
  • Report discrepancies:
    Notify missing or incorrect items.
Inventory and Documentation
  • Update inventory systems:
    Reflect changes from shipments and receipts.
  • Organize storage areas:
    Maintain clean and efficient warehouse or stockroom layout.
  • Cycle counts and audits:
    Assist with periodic inventory checks.
  • File shipping and receiving documents:
    Maintain organized records for compliance and tracking.
General Office Administration
  • End of the month support contacting vendors to secure shipment acknowledgments and invoices
  • Data entry and invoicing to customers as needed
  • Create central repositories such as but not limited to vendor contacts, customer contacts, partial shipments, RGAs.
  • Update and distribute operational dashboards such as net new orders, backlog, quotes, inventory, etc.
  • Support outside sales with customer order status and update system as needed.
  • Track shipments in transit as needed
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or coursework in logistics, business administration, or supply chain management is a plus.
  • 1–2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations preferred.
  • Familiarity with shipping software (e.g., Fed Ex Ship Manager, UPS World Ship) and ERP systems.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and office administration.
  • Comfortable with data entry and using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment (PC, Scanner)
  • Physical Capability:
    Lift and move packages safely; assist with unloading deliveries.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office products – Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe.
