Position: Data Processing Clerk I

Location: Alice Hamilton Laboratory, 5555 Ridge Avenue Hamilton Building, Cincinnati, OH 45212

Employment Type: Full-Time (3 days per week on-site/Telework 2 days per week).

Clearance: Background investigation required (per Government direction)

Position Summary

Gant Global Services (GGS) is seeking a Data Processing Clerk I to support Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) / National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) program. This position supports data processing and clerical operations in accordance with Government-provided procedures and quality standards.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical support for study data collection.
  • Contact data providers to request information, such as request medical records from health care providers, follow-up on outstanding survey responses.
  • Assist researchers with field data collection, such as scanning hardcopy files, and distributing and collecting surveys.
  • Track the status of survey responses, forms.
  • Prepare materials for mass mailings.
  • Retrieve and file study records and associated data according to branch procedures.
  • Perform Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) searches.
  • Provide record management support.
  • Enter information in electronic records information systems such as the Industry wide Studies Information System (ISIS) and Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications.
  • Assemble basic PowerPoint presentations and Word documents.
  • Use Excel to create and edit lists and tables for basic tracking of tasks or items.
  • Distill pieces of information (e.g. resources about federal records management rules and procedures) into a summary document (Word or PowerPoint).
  • Search electronic and hand copy records in response to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, including searching physical and electronic records, scanning documents, editing/merging PDFs, managing electronic file storage locations) when requested or in response to FOIA request.
  • Provide quick and easy access to federal records in a usable format (e.g. locate physical records, scan documents, edit/merge PDFs, manage electronic file storage locations) when request or in response to a FOIA request.
  • Prepare hardcopy and electronic federal records for storage and archiving.
  • Ensure that all necessary federal records documentation is accurate and complete and is compliant with regulations and/or policies.
  • Answer basic federal records management questions about federal records management rules and procedures.
  • Maintain paper and electronic records and data according to Agency rules and procedures.
  • Attend NIOSH sponsored training and meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of data entry, clerical, or administrative support experience
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a structured environment
  • Ability to pass a background investigation as required by the Government
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting federal government or regulated programs
  • Familiarity with data quality or records processing environments
  • Work with minimum supervision
Work Environment
  • Hybrid work arrangement (remote and onsite)
  • Must be able to report to the Government place of performance in Cincinnati, OH, as required
  • Standard office environment with prolonged periods of computer use
