The Community Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for residents, visitors, community partners, and staff, helping create a safe, welcoming, and organized environment within Shelterhouse operations.
This role is responsible for supporting communication, client coordination, front desk operations, and administrative processes while ensuring individuals are treated with dignity, professionalism, and respect. The Community Receptionist plays a critical role in supporting Shelterhouse’s mission by helping connect clients to services and maintaining efficient daily operations.

Job Duties
- Greet all visitors, residents, and community members in a warm, respectful, and professional manner
- Answer and relay incoming and interoffice and outgoing calls promptly and accurately
- Assist clients in programs including Community Resources, Shelterhouse Assessments/ Programs, Orientation, and intakes by helping connect them to resources and appropriate staff
- Schedule appointments for clients with Case Managers upon request
- Provide timely and professional communication to clients, staff, and external partners
- Assist Shelterhouse leadership and staff with operational and administrative support as needed
- Manage front desk operations and multi-line phone systems efficiently
- Maintain and manage client queues within VESTA
- Run reports in VESTA as requested
- Update daily calendars for clients and staff
- Post daily activities and updates to client boards, and internal network
- Accept, sort, and distribute mail and packages as needed
