Job Overview
Accessibility Resources is looking to hire a scheduling coordinator for Accessibility Services. As part of the Communication Access Services Team , you will collaborate with various campus partners, contractors, and event coordinators to fulfill ASL/English Interpreter and Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) captioning services for d/Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing UC students, faculty, staff, and guests.
Primary Duties
- A student work assignment which provides support for an apprenticeship period, during which the student enhances his/her scholarly and professional skills.
- Support Communication Access Services in scheduling service requests received from students, faculty, staff, and guests of the university.
- Respond and/or escalate general inbox questions and concerns.
- Assist in real-time captioning setup for university classes and events.
- Participate in the accessibility planning for large campus events.
- Participate in conversations regarding appropriate accommodation and best practices as it relates to communication access at the university.
- Perform various duties related to specific scholarly and professional skills.
Must be registered for at least twelve graduate credit hours each quarter of the academic year. Must meet eligibility criteria published by graduate programs that make awards and appointments.
Physical Requirements
As a UC student employee of an Ohio public institution, you will not contribute to the federal Social Security system, other than contributions to Medicare.
