AboutThe University of Cincinnati Testing Services department provides secure, professional, and accessible testing environments for students, faculty, and external test-takers, adhering to the standards of the National College Testing Association.
Job OverviewStudent Associates perform a vital role within the department of Testing Services. They interact regularly with students, faculty,and other university employees. They welcome test takers to thecenter and assist with daily departmental activities while maintaining confidentiality of student, department, and institutional information.
Primary DutiesThe Student Associate position provides part-time employment opportunities within University of Cincinnati departments. This role offers students the chance to gain valuable work experience while supporting the operations and services of the university.
- Support and effectively monitor test takers as they arrive,check-in, and test at Testing Services.
- Ensure that all the testing materials needed are prepared aheadof each shift.
- Attain and maintain vendor certifications for high-stakes professional and licensure tests as required.
- Communicate with faculty, coworkers, and test takers in person,via email, and via phone call in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain test security and integrity.
- Accurately label and file testing materials according to desk guidelines.
- Deliver high quality customer service online, by phone and/orin-person to all those utilizing UC Testing Services
- Serve as a strong student staff member and ambassador for Testing Services.
- Perform a variety of administrative, operational,or program support tasks as assigned by the department.
- Assist with daily office or departmental activities, including data entry, filing, customer service, and communications.
- Support departmental projects, events, and initiatives that enhance university programs or community engagement.
- Operate standard office equipment and software applications in the performance of assigned duties.
- Maintain confidentiality of student, departmental,and institutional information in accordance with universitypolicies.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and acommitment to providing quality service.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.

- High School Diploma or GED
- Enrolled at a post-secondary institution or asecondary school.
- Enrolled at least part-time (one or more credit hours if at a post-secondary institution), except for summer term,or will be a registered student during the next academic term.
- Must be at least 16 years ofage.
- “Enrollment” shall include:
- The period between two successive terms for whichthe student is enrolled.
- The one “off” term in each academic year in whichthe student is not enrolled. Student employee status may be retained for one additional term following either graduation or withdrawal from enrollment.
As a UC student employee of an Ohio public institution,you will not contribute to the federal Social Security system,other than contributions to Medicare.
