CMHA is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional to support the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program. The Office Specialist II (HCV) plays an important role in providing quality housing services while demonstrating CMHA's core values of Respect, Accuracy, Timeliness, Integrity, Accountability, Initiative, Creativity, Excellence, Value, Quality, and Professionalism.

Position Summary

The Housing Choice Voucher Program Assistant provides administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient operation of the HCV Program. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional customer service, maintain accurate records, support program compliance, and assist participants, landlords, and agency staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, and program documents.
  • Enter and maintain accurate data in agency systems.
  • Assist with processing participant and owner information.
  • Support rent reasonableness reviews and unit setup activities.
  • Schedule appointments and assist with recertifications and briefings
  • Manage mailings, filing, scanning, and document tracking.
  • Conduct unit and owner background checks.
  • Provide lobby coverage and respond to inquiries by phone, online, and in person.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service in accordance with CMHA's Gold Standards.
  • Support departmental operations and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; related administrative experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to type 55 WPM.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
