CTS is seeking a high-impact Automotive Segment Sales Manager to lead the strategic expansion of our Automotive segment. This role is designed for a driven, competitive sales leader who thrives on developing new business, penetrating key accounts, and displacing competition in a technically demanding market.
Position OverviewAs the Automotive Segment Sales Leader, you will serve as the catalyst for growth within the Automotive segment. This role is responsible for defining and executing the strategy to expand CTS’s presence through strategic key account development and aggressive new business acquisition.
You will operate with a competitive, results-oriented mindset—identifying high-value targets, shaping segment strategy, and leading coordinated efforts across marketing, channel partners, and engineering teams to win in the marketplace.
This is a strategic hunting and account leadership role, requiring independent initiative, disciplined execution, and strong industry expertise.
What You'll Do Drive Strategic Growth & Hunting Execution- Identify and define the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) for the Automotive segment and selectively target high-value opportunities
- Proactively pursue and displace competitors through disciplined account penetration strategies
- Develop and own annual key and new account development plans for the most impactful Automotive customers
- Analyze automotive market trends and build a segment strategy aligned with evolving industry shifts
- Collaborate with Marketing and Outbound Sales to develop targeted campaigns focused on key accounts and new business opportunities
- Clearly articulate CTS’s differentiated value proposition across standard products and custom automation systems
- Provide subject matter expertise and sales support to channel partners to drive full-line solution adoption
- Collaborate with R&D, Applications Engineering, and Marketing to translate customer needs into new products and services that expand CTS’s footprint in Automotive
- Serve as the voice of the Automotive customer internally, ensuring alignment between market needs and technical capabilities
- Provide monthly and quarterly reports detailing activities and performance against agreed-upon growth objectives
- Operate independently while maintaining strong internal communication and alignment with executive leadership
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Engineering or Technical background preferred - 8–10 years of experience selling into the Automotive industry
- Demonstrated success in strategic account development and new business acquisition
Strong understanding of the automotive OEM and Tier supply landscape - Excellent communication and presentation skills, including executive-level engagement
- Experience selling custom automation systems, test equipment, or engineered solutions
- Familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes and quality validation systems
- Experience collaborating with channel partners or distributor networks
- Competitive, results-oriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency
- Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and high personal accountability
- Excellent time management, prioritization, and disciplined follow-up skills
- Leadership presence internally and externally with customers and channel partners
- Willingness to travel approximately 50%, including international travel
