Position Overview

Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II – Cincinnati, Ohio

As a Cosmetic Reconditioning Associate II at Car Max, you will perform cosmetic inspections, final quality checks, and advanced reconditioning tasks such as paint touch‑up, wet sanding, and buffing to ensure every vehicle meets Car Max standards of quality and appearance.

• Execute standardized cosmetic reconditioning processes efficiently while maintaining high quality.
• Perform advanced cosmetic repairs including paint touch‑up, wet sanding, and buffing to restore vehicles to Car Max standards.
• Complete cosmetic and final quality inspections to ensure vehicles meet customer‑ready standards.
• Identify defects and determine optimal repair methods for best results.
• Support auction preparation and assist with vehicle movement on and off the lot.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and collaborate with team members to achieve goals.
• Follow Car Max Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

• Completion of all Car Max training programs, including online and hands‑on modules.
• Ability to read, interpret, and record data accurately for inventory and quality control.
• Skilled at performing multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks for extended periods.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
• Willingness to work in indoor and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather.

• Hourly rate: $20.20 – $21.33.
• Paid sick, vacation, and holiday time for eligible associates (up to 48 hours of sick time per year; 80–200 hours of vacation per year after a 90‑day waiting period; 6 paid scheduled holidays per year plus 1 floating holiday).
• Holiday premium pay for work on scheduled holidays when required.
• Full‑time salaried associates receive paid time away for sick, vacation, bereavement, jury duty, holidays, and floating holidays, subject to manager approval.
