Overview
Business Development Leader – [US], Remote.
Reports to:
AVP Marketing & Business Development. The role focuses on driving growth through global target account development strategies, executing outreach initiatives, and leading a team to expand Benchmark Gensuite’s market footprint in the EHS, Sustainability, and ESG space.
Benchmark Gensuite enables companies to implement cross-functional digital systems for EHS, Sustainability, and ESG Reporting through a unified platform. This position involves leveraging expertise in EHS/Sustainability domains, technology, CRM systems, event engagement, and applied AI to deliver measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute global target account development strategies focused on high-value accounts.
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Product teams to align business development initiatives with organizational goals.
- Define and implement processes for global pipeline generation, event follow-up, and account engagement.
- Lead engagement strategies for global target accounts, including outreach, relationship development, and partnership opportunities.
- Oversee event participation strategies, ensuring strong pre-event targeting, on-site engagement, and post-event follow-through.
- Utilize systems such as Hub Spot and Gong to track and optimize outreach effectiveness, pipeline growth, and account performance; deploy AI capabilities to optimize and automate key activities.
- Manage, coach, and mentor a team of business development professionals.
- Create a culture of continuous learning and skill development, with a track record of elevating junior team members.
- Establish and track individual and team performance metrics.
- Lead outreach strategies for global target accounts and identify partnership opportunities.
- Oversee event strategies with strong pre-event targeting, on-site engagement, and post-event follow-through.
- Drive adoption of AI and GenAI to optimize key activities and improve efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze KPIs such as pipeline generation, conversion rates, activity, and funnel metrics.
- Provide leadership reporting on performance, insights, and growth opportunities.
- Identify process and technology enhancements, including applied AI to improve efficiency and decision-making.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success to align priorities and messaging.
- Travel up to 30% to engage with clients, prospects, and industry events globally.
- 3+ years of progressive experience in business development or sales leadership.
- Direct experience in EHS or EHS technology solutions preferred.
- Proven expertise in target account development and global account strategy, with ability to articulate impact and relate effort to revenue.
- Hands-on experience with Hub Spot and Gong.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor a team, with a track record of developing junior members.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills, with ability to foster accountability and growth.
- Strong understanding of key business development metrics and the ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% globally and knowledge of event engagement strategies and post-event follow-through.
